Who we are
This website and the Daytime Notes plugins are run by muzKore (Murray Chapman, ABN: 84 282 650 647), based in Melbourne, Australia. Questions about this policy: connect@daytimenotes.com, or use the Connect page.
What this website collects
Contact form
When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, reason for contacting us and message. If you report a bug, we may also collect the details you choose to give: your plugin and WordPress versions, theme or page builder, a page address and any screenshot you upload. We use this only to reply to you and fix the problem, and keep it only as long as we need to.
Buying Daytime Notes Pro
Pro is sold through Freemius, which acts as the merchant of record. Freemius handles checkout, payment, invoices and tax, and collects your name, email address, billing details and payment information under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details. Freemius shares your name, email address and licence details with us so we can provide your licence, updates and support.
Analytics
We use Koko Analytics, which runs on our own server. No data goes to Google, Meta or anyone else. It doesn’t use cookies. It counts unique visitors using a one-way scrambled value that’s replaced every day, so it can’t identify you or follow you from one day to the next. We only keep totals (pages visited, referring websites, browser and device type), never individual visitor profiles. Data is kept for up to 36 months, then deleted automatically.
The Daytime Notes plugins
This section covers the plugins once they’re installed on your own WordPress site, separately from what this website collects.
Your notes stay on your site
In both editions, notes, replies, attachments and settings are stored in your own WordPress database and uploads folder. We never receive them. Notification emails are sent by your own website, using its normal email setup. You control this data, not us: if you use Daytime Notes with clients, you’re responsible for it under your own privacy obligations.
Daytime Notes (Free)
The free plugin doesn’t connect to any outside service, and has no analytics or tracking. It’s downloaded and updated through WordPress.org, under WordPress.org’s privacy policy.
Daytime Notes Pro
Pro uses Freemius for licence activation, licence checks and updates. When you activate a licence, and periodically afterwards, Pro sends Freemius:
- your licence key;
- the name and email address of the administrator who activated it;
- your site’s address and title, WordPress version, PHP version, language, and the version of the Freemius software Pro uses;
- the Pro version, and events such as activation, deactivation and uninstall, including any reason you choose to give when uninstalling.
- your server’s IP address, which Freemius uses to work out your country.
Freemius uses this to manage your licence and deliver updates, under its privacy policy. Pro never sends your notes, attachments or users’ details.
If you choose “Switch to the free version”, your site contacts WordPress.org to download the free plugin.
Cookies
This website doesn’t use cookies for analytics or advertising. If you buy Pro, the Freemius checkout may set its own cookies to process your purchase.
Who we share data with
Only where needed to run the business:
- Freemius: Pro sales, licences and updates
- Hosting provider: Hosts this website
- Email provider: Our email, including replies to your messages
We never sell your personal information. Some of these providers may store data outside Australia, including in the United States.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with them. Purchase and licence records are kept as long as needed for tax, accounting and support, and as required by Australian law.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing connect@daytimenotes.com. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first. In Australia you can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), and in the EU or UK to your local data protection authority.
Children
This website and our plugins aren’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
