1. About these terms
These terms cover your use of daytimenotes.com and the Daytime Notes plugins. They’re offered by muzKore (Murray Chapman, ABN: 84 282 650 647), based in Melbourne, Australia (“we”, “us”). By using this website or either plugin, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.
2. The plugins
Daytime Notes is a WordPress plugin for leaving notes on elements of a website. It comes in two editions:
- Daytime Notes (Free): available on WordPress.org.
- Daytime Notes Pro: sold on this website through Freemius.
3. Software licence
Both editions are licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (GPL), like WordPress itself. You may use, study, change and share the code under the GPL’s terms. Pro includes the Freemius software development kit, which is also GPL-licensed.
The GPL covers the code. It doesn’t give you a licence key, updates or support. Those come with a paid Pro licence, as set out below.
4. Pro licences
- Yearly subscription. A Pro licence lasts one year and renews automatically each year at the price shown when it renews, unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Sites. Each licence covers 1 site, 5 sites or unlimited sites, depending on what you buy. Local development sites (such as
localhostor.testaddresses) don’t count towards your limit. - Cancelling. You can cancel your renewal at any time through your Freemius account or by contacting us. Cancelling stops future renewals. Your current year runs to its end.
- Licence keys are for you. Please don’t share, sell or publish your licence key. We may deactivate a key that’s being shared or misused.
5. When a licence ends
- Expired (you didn’t renew): Pro keeps working with all its features. You just stop getting updates and support until you renew.
- Cancelled straight away, or refunded: Pro pauses. It stops running, but nothing is deleted. Your notes stay in your WordPress database, and you can switch to the free version in one click to keep using them. Pro-only data, such as attachments, stays saved and comes back if you activate a licence again.
6. Payment
Pro purchases are handled by Freemius, which acts as the merchant of record. Freemius takes your payment, issues invoices and handles tax, under its own terms and privacy policy. We never see or store your card details.
7. Refunds
If you’re not happy with Pro, you can ask for a full refund within 30 days of buying it, no questions asked. Contact us or use your Freemius account. A refunded licence is cancelled, and Pro pauses as described in section 5.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including a refund or replacement if the product has a major failure.
8. Support and updates
- Pro: email support at connect@daytimenotes.com, and updates through your WordPress dashboard, while your licence is active.
- Free: support through the WordPress.org support forum, and updates through WordPress.org.
We aim to reply within 1 business day, but support is offered on a reasonable-effort basis.
9. Your responsibilities
- Use Daytime Notes lawfully.
- You’re responsible for the data in your notes. Notes, attachments and user details are stored on your own website, not with us. If you use Daytime Notes with clients or other people, you’re responsible for handling their information properly.
- Keep your own backups. We recommend backing up your site before installing or updating any plugin.
10. Name and logo
The Daytime Notes name, logo and the daytimenotes.com website belong to muzKore. The GPL covers the plugin’s code, but not the right to use our name or logo, for example on a modified version you share.
11. No warranty
The plugins are provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise they’ll be error-free, work with every theme, plugin or host, or never be interrupted.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost data, profits or business, from using the plugins or this website. Where our liability can’t be excluded but can be limited, it’s limited to resupplying the product or refunding what you paid for it in the last 12 months. Nothing in these terms excludes any guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law that can’t lawfully be excluded.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date shows when they last changed. Changes to price or renewal terms won’t affect a licence year you’ve already paid for.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and disputes go to the courts of Victoria.
